Windshield Wiper Problem

Windshield Wiper Problem
Hello,
My wipers work only on the superfast speed. They will not work on intermittent or on slow. When I turn them off they stop wherever they are instead of stopping at the bottom.
Is there an easy way to tell if this is a switch problem or whether it's a motor problem?
Thanks!

Id say your switch is bad. Only one position works.
-I think its like $60 from Majestic Honda. Im about to get one too.

I had this exact problem on my '98 coupe. There's actually a technical service bulletin out for it too.
The problem is the return switch breaks within the wiper motor. Replace the wiper motor and you're all good. I found a replacement on eBay for $25. It even came with a full new linkage too.

No problem. It's a really easy fix too. Just make sure you mark the motor and linkage (where they match up). I forgot to and ended up with wipers that wiped up instead of down.

Re: (NOFX)
hey i was wondering since that report was only for 98-00, would this still be useful for 96-97? the reason i ask ask is beacause i have a 96 coupe that does the same.

I would honestly not be surprised if it extended to all model years of the 6th gen Civic. I've heard mixed information on years of TSBs too.
It's the exact same problem though?
I thought mine would be the switch (or possibly the intermittent control unit behind the interior fuse box...), but replaced the motor and everything is right again. A lot of people have told me that doesn't make sense, but there it is straight from Honda too.
