Default what kind of supercharger

i've got the b16 in adn i'm thinkin about supercharging my car but i've heard good adn bad things about the jackson racing model and the vortech model. Which one should i get? vortech is pretty much liek a turbo so is it worth it to get it, we'll the jackson racing has a more spread out power band. What do u think should i upgrade if i did supercharge?

vortech is a lot of money.. i'd rather turbo than the vortech since it has lag like a turbo.

jackson racing supercharger is the way to go i would say.

For supercharging, I'd get the JRSC.

Turbo is more in my mind though. If you're worried about lag, just don't get a huge turbo. Smaller ones spool up faster. My GReddy kit lag is almost un-noticable. The T3/T4 is pretty popular to reduce lag too.

In researching it, I'm planning on going with the JRSC. The problem that I see with it however is that the fuel management set-up that is part of the kit isn't the correct way to do it. I believe that in order to get CARB certification, they are limited to using the stock ECU and have to "band-aid" around it.

The correct way to do it is to go with larger injectors and a programable ECU (Zdyne gold).

I got a chance to ride in a 4G civic with D16Z6 with this set-up. The power curve was smooth and strong. Impressive!

Wes.

i thought the compression of the gsr motor was less than the b16 though, which means the boost would be less effective. from everyone that i've talked to, they say supercharging a b16 with the jrsc is a wicked setup. thats what i'm planning on doing next spring. as far as the fuel setup, look around in the FI forum - it sounds like the new SMC unit made by zip is a really good way to manage the fuel. you end up using the stock fuel system with exception to larger injectors. just a suggestion since we've all heard bad things about jr's fmu.

My response to JRSC is forced hot air induction. There is no sense in it. Find a kit that uses a innercooler same situation a with a turbo. A turbo with out a innercooler runs quite a bit slower then an innercooled one. The cooler may reduce boost by a couple psi but in the long run worth it.

What a stupid response. And most of the others are just as bad. Most of the "JRSC is worthless" responses are heard, my buddies, read.....Do it yourself and then explain to me why my car and many others put down 250-300 everyday. Up the boost from the stock psi kit and see your results. Yes, it isnt very efficient after 10psi, but it is a wicked street setup. If you want 250-300 whp with instant boost, get the JR. If you want more power, get a turbo setup. I sold my JR for a turbo setup as I am in search of 10s.
