Put some rtv in the circular area where the bolt touches the block, tighten it down. Wait three hours, Start it. Check if it leaks.

thanks, i also did my oil pan gasket. i tried my best to put rtv on the surface and applied only a little. the space is very little for my hands to reach it.
What is this bolt for? if ever it leaks again, will oil come gushing out if i unbolt it to reapply rtv?

Did i apply the sealant correctly? I had trouble reinstalling it, it bumped here and there, space is too little! If this leaks im gonna have it done at a shop.

Most important thing is that the bolt is properly torqued to spec.
From the banked wall, and inner joint location, this appears to be a V6. If so, that bolt is one of the cross bolts for the main caps. Make sure it is properly torqued and not just 'tite enuf'.

I just found this thread and have a question. I have a 2002 Accord with the same exact bolt leaking pretty badly. Seems easy enough, but saw another place and cannot figure if bolt is right or left threaded? Does anyone know torque once cleaned, rtv'd, and put back in? Thanks!
