Default Exhausted broke after cat. Cheapest Fix?

Looking for a cheap fix. I'm thinking welding a pipe (extension) on both sides of the break...

Car is extremely loud and rumbly and not a fan.

Pictures attached. Thanks!

Possibly a complete exhaust pipe system from a used car in a junk yard ... ?
I seriously doubt anything will stay put when welded to that rust pile.

You can get a brand new midpipe from bosal or walker for like $100.

The fun part is going to be separating that flange from the cat.

I assumed this would be a headache.

Was thinking of getting a sleeve and flange?

Bosal/Exhaust Pipe and Adapter 265-703- ReadReviews onBosal #265-703

and new flange bolts with a couple of prayers that the old flange would just easily come right off?

Does something of this nature seem feasible?

Make sure you soak everything in PB Blaster really good first, and an impact gun will help with the bolt.

But getting the flanges thar are rusted together apart is going to be difficult with the cat in the car, so probably a good idea to remove it first.

The double meaning of your thread title is pretty funny.

Usually once a pipe develops a hole or breaks off, it is rusted paper-thin in other places too. You're really better off in the long run to replace the whole B pipe, and probably the back section with the muffler too, and be done with it.

You guys are brutal, but I get the point. Lol The b pipe was replaced maybe 3 years ago, figured it would survive a bit longer.

Also realized I wrote exhausted in the title, lol

Thanks everyone!
