I've been thinking about getting a detachable steering wheel and wanted you guys impressions and maybe recommendations but I also have questions. I like it for cosmetic purposes but can it also serve as a added security feature. I've never heard of cars being stolen with one installed. Like I said I like it for cosmetic purposes but if it can prevent my car from being stolen especially after money spent into the j32 swap I wouldn't mind the extra safety

I have one, but not on my daily driver. Security wise I get that, but I found it mostly useful for getting out of the car since my fixed back seats are not easy to get in and out of.

It adds security as long as the thief doesn't bring their own with them. You may want to consider the lock that covers the mounting point, otherwise you can just get in with your own steering wheel, attach it and drive off.

 

Did your srs light come on?

 

No, because it was a 1990 without an airbag from the factory. But on any car with a factory airbag, it will come on.
