Default 92 civic VX/manual: bottom end rattle

the car.....1992 civic VX with a 1.5/manual tranny= bottom end rattle

the new.... 1.6 VTEC and manual tranny out of a 2000 civic = 23k original miles and worth the swap

the task,,what all will I expect with this swap such as what all works,,wire harness, brackets, pullys,,,etc. I do believe the 92 is pre wired for the VTEC so that may not be a tuffy but I do need to verify I have the P28-A02 ECU.

I have read about issues with 02 sensor hookups (3 to 4 wire plug) so what will work for the o2
anything about the IACV on the intake,, I have read there may be a difference with wire prongs or something like that.

and can someone please explain to me the OBD1 and OBD2 because I am confused.. I would like to run the distributor out of the 1.5 in the 1.6 so that may keep me into the OBD1,, however if I keep the distributor that is in the 1.6 will I need to swap to the OBD2 and if so who has a harness to make that plug and play,,,, along with what injectors should I run the 1.5 or the factory 1.6 injectors.... I know this is probably just a start of a huge list of questions I may have so everyone please bare with me I am extremely new new new at this and have no idea

It doesn't matter that your car is a 1992. It's a VX so it has VTEC already, VTEC-E, but VTEC none-the-less.

vx/ex distributors are unique. use your current alternator and pick up a b7 distributor, it will fit the y8 head

VX O2 sensor fix:

You'll also need to swap the plug on the engine harness where the O2 sensor plugs in. If your original VX O2 sensor is still good they are worth a little money.

As far as the distributor goes one from a D15B7 or D15B8 will be direct fit. If you don't want to buy another distributor you can take both of them apart and swap the CYP/CKP/TDC sensor from one to the other. Just make sure you mark the orientation of the 2 pronged drive in relation to the shaft it goes on so you don't get it 180° out of time.

There are a few other things unique to the VX like the fuel feed line (it's shaped weird to fit around the EGR valve, try to get the one from the Y8 or a D15B7). The VX also has an aluminum alternator and AC bracket that are kinda neat but not especially important.
