Default Start Engine to Tune/Troubleshoot without transaxle installed

I just finished installing my motor after doing the timing belt, clutch, seals etc. I would like to start the engine and troubleshoot, tune, etc. prior to installing both CV shafts. Anyone know if this will cause problems/damage?

Thanks!

The engine and transmission have no internal connection at all so it shouldn't be a problem. Just don't put the car in gear or you risk slinging tranny fluid out.
