Best air intake for b16 crx
Hi, i want to know wich intake is the better for the b16 crx (ef8), because i have read the longer intake the better, the shorter intake the better, others says short ram intake with velocity stacks, others like the cold air intake from 99-00 civic, whale *****, stock air box, etc... And now i'm very confused. Thanks
I suppose the best intake would depend on what you're doing with it.
Would you mean the intake that makes the most power? That would depend on your build. Most area under the torque curve? Probably ITB's.
If you mean the intake tube that connects to a stock manifold, I'm sure there are plenty of head to head comparisons out there in internetland. Let us know what you find.

Hi, i want the most powerful and well design and that don't need to recolocate the battery. A moment ago, a friend toldme to take a icebox (like integra airbox). my crx will have a few bolt-ons: Invidia cat-back, toda rep header, sport cat, and a hondata s300 with obd1 conversion, i'm still asking about the intake, that is the last thing to decide.
I want to keep it as oem look as possible. For purposes i'm thinking about getting a b18c4 complete oem header intake + throttle body (62mm i think) vs my oem pr3 hi + 58mm tb (b16a)
Honestly, there is no "best". If it's a stock motor, then it really doesn't matter IMO. Velocity stacks work great, but the have that humongous filter on the end. To run one daily without is asking for trouble. My friend and I made this intake using 2 3" ebay intakes

The red dyno graph is with it as a short ram (the bottom section off ) and the blue is it as a cai

Avoid those really short intakes that place the filter right over the transmission.
some people claim they give the best power and they might.... on the dyno.
With normal driving, after the engine warms up the hot engine compartment air will get sucked right in every time you are stopped or driving slowly.
You want cold air and not hot air.
Other than that, it's just like BLU is saying. Your setup is pretty much stock and it won't mater.
Just look for something that fits well.
