Parts compatibility between 84 and 89 Prelude
Hello everyone, I recently acquired an 89 Prelude 2.0 si 4ws (sweet!) And it has the dreaded s3 with a code 17. As it has a mechanical speedo I've narrowed my vss problem to my instrument cluster, pulled the speedo cluster, everything looks good but apparently they go bad and am having trouble locating one to see if this solves my problem. Now, I've located an 84 that I can get for practically nothing. I want to know if it is worth it to me just for parts. How interchangeable are parts between 2gs and 3gs. And will the sensor on the cluster work on my 89? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

3rd gens are mostly only compatible with other 3rd gens.
So stick to only 3rd gen parts.
