Default Oil in spark plug holes

On my 94 accord with a 2.2 non vtech I have oil in 2 of the spark plug wells. I know this is from the bad o rings and they need to be replaced. What scares me about doing the job is I have never messed with rocker arms on any vehicle so I have no idea how to adjust them once I put it back together. This is the only thing stopping me from doing the job. Is this something a novice can do?

You don't really even have to adjust them. Just make sure to torque down the rocker arm bolts in a couple stages and it should be fine.

It's very easy to do.
With the engine cold, rotate the cam so it is on TDC for whichever cylinder you are working on. Ever 1/4 turn of the cam is TDC for a cylinder, or half turn at the crank.

You will need a 10mm box end wrench, I use the 6 point brake bleeder wrench, a #2 flat head screw driver, and a set of bent feeler gauges(these will clear the valvetrain better).

With the cam at TDC for the cylinder you are working on use your feeler gauges(.010" for Intake, .012" for exhaust) and verify the correct clearance.
If there is too much slop, too much drag, or no clearance you will need to adjust. With the exception of higher mileage engines, it's usually only the exhaust side that will need adjustment.

I prefer to loosen the lock nut, loosen the adjuster, insert feeler gauge between rocker and valve tip and slowly tighten the adjuster until the feeler gauge is snug, with the angled gauges you will see the end lift up as you reach ideal clearance. Pull the gauge out and see if you can reinsert it. If it is too tight or too much drag, loosen, if it is still sloppy tighten. When it is acceptable, tighten the locknut(10mm) while holding the adjuting screw with your #2. Don't need to torque the begesus out of it, just a snug hand tight tightness.

Better to err on the loose side as too tight may cause a misfire issuse from the valves not seating.

This is probably the video you refer to:

My 1992 Accord has the same oil in cylinder problem. I watched the video and the job looks like I could do it, although removing that big "cage" assembly from engine looks scary.

My Accord has had the oil problem for the 10 years I owned the car so it's not a rush job, fortunately. It doesn't seem to effect the spark plug firing.

Thank You for the responses, I am now ready to tackle this job. My car has over 300,000 miles on it and the rocker arms are a little noisy so I think I will adjust them while I am in there. When I got the car it had 113000 miles on it and I know I have never had them adjusted. Thanks again for the info.
