Greetings fellow Hondaphiles.
My trusty 1996 CRV (automatic, 4wd) threw a hissy fit of sorts this morning.
Started and warmed up as per usual. Drove away and noticed speedo not working....until brakes applied , then speedo works until braking ceases and then speedo stops working again . 2 or 3 minutes into journey the Check Engine Light comes on also and stays on till engine turned off. CEL comes on and goes off after a few seconds when ignition key turned on to start vehicle (as it should)....then comes on and stays on after a few minutes. Coincidentally had a blown left brake light bulb (now replaced) Am thinking maybe vehicle speed sensor ?? but why would the speedo start working again under braking ? WierdWill get it to a diagnostic tool for check up....but any ideas out there?
