I bought a head gasket kit that cake with all the other gaskets I need to complete the job. However, it came with 2 intake manifold gaskets; one covers too many ports/passages, the other looks good except for covering only 1/2 of a "port" in the center of the head...need help. The kit did;t come with any paperwork. When I go to sites like AutoZone or Rock Auto, their gaskets look the same as mine... can anyone shed some light on this?

Need more info man. What motor are you working with, what head? Stock intake? What part number do you have for the gasket? All this information and someone should be able to cough up answers like weather what you have will work or what you need.

 

It is a stock 1996 Civic EX D16Y8. the kit doesn't have part numbers

It must be one of those universal d series kits
you'll have to wait until you pull the manifold off.

 

The manifold is off, it is going back on, thats why I am asking the question. Hopefully the pics work. My finger is pointing to the port in question, the other pic is the gasket partially covering the port, all but 3/16ish of it

 

The other gasket in the kit would cover that port completely, but it would also cover most of the other ports as well...
