2003 Acura TL Type-S Odd transmission Issues (help needed)
Hello
new member here, seeking sound advice from knowledgeable people
I own a 2003 Acura TL Type-S at 180k miles
Note: transmission fluid was flushed and refilled by Acura Dealer around 140k miles, it still is full and in great condition and not burnt.
Monday June 27th I was driving my car down the road at 45ish mph, then suddenly the cars dumps me into 2nd gear harder than I've ever shifted a manual car in my life, feeling something like a small car accident, I instantly see the dash light up with warning lights, VSA, check engine etc
I Limp home staying in low rpm and pull the codes, P0730 and P1750
now, the transmission has been up until that day perfect, not a single issue, every gear pulls hard and I've never felt it slip once, I tried the car in the Manual-auto mode and it allowed me to drive the car like that, it shifted In and out of all gears, 3rd and 2nd like there was NO issue at all and kept like that until I was told by a friend to reset the PCM by removing the battery terminal for an hour
I reattach the batter and start the car, D5 normal Drive works, it's great for about 30 miles until it smacks me in the face again with a hard down shift to 2nd from 3rd, then when I move into manual-auto it stops allowing me to have any control at all and sticks the car permanently in 3rd, and the radio now reads "code" thinking this meant a new ODB code, I check and indeed a new code is added
P0730 shift solenoid issues of some variety I believe
I believe it's worth now to check the solenoids i can reach and check the screens for debris and contaminants and maybe a flush and new sensor?
if you read this all thank you very much
let me know what you think!
