What parts should i replace befor installing motor?
I'm going to pull the h23a motor out of my automatic 4gen Prelude si and drop it in a 4th manual 4th generation Prelude si. What parts should i replace on the motor and the car the motor will be going into? the motor is stock with no mods and will be a daily driver. I had no machanical issuses with the motor. I'm not looking to do a h22 head swipe. Having real trouble finding a write up and past threads/replies that answeres my questions. Hopefully i'll get the hang navigating forums soon

Thanks for responding HondaTechMan121. Other than those parts, Is there anything else I should replace or perform maintenance on while the motor is out and right in front of me? I found a sticky about the infamous Honda oil leak issue. I do not have this problem but will be replacing those parts at this time since my motor will be out and right in front of me. Also, my new car is a manual with a bad bottom end. What parts and maintenance should I perform & look out for on the transmission and its related parts short of going into the transmission? I’m sure I’m not ready for that
. The only maintenance I performed on my donor motor was valve adjustment, oil changes, plugs, wires ect. Once again, thanks for responding and to anyone else with good advice, please feel free to respond and thanks in advance.Ps, any links to write ups related to my thread is appreciated

Absolutely replace the rear main seal with a new one directly from Honda.
If you don't know how to pull the seal directly you can drop the oil pan and then remove the plate that surrounds the seal, install rtv where the old rtv was, slide the seal in and then slide the plate with the seal back on and gently torque down all the bolts. Then put the oil pan back on. There are probably how-to's on youtube.

Yeah rear main seal, and I would say do a new clutch unless you are sure of the condition of the old one.
Maybe axle seals on the tranny, basically anything that is getting moved or dis/assembled and has a seal.
