Default Cost to take motor out replace with new parts

I have a 1999 si motor that I'm having problems with.

I would like to take out the motor and have a mechanic
take it apart, clean and add new parts if needed.
For example, rebuilding the motor.

How much would the labor cost?
parts?

Thanks.

...it'd cost more than a used low mileage motor you could swap in over a weekend if you have the tools and a friend who's handy with hondas.

and what kind of problems you are thinking will get fixed by doing this? basicly you need someone to fix the problems you are having and then just drive the car.

I tried fixing the car. Still having problems. when the previous owner swapped this motor
in an ex honda civic, they didnt do a full conversion of all the parts. Basically they just
swapped the motor in.

- has a harsh sound when turning the car on.
- can barely turn on
- if it does turn on, push the gas, smoke comes out
the exhaust.
- the car doesnt sound the same.

- does anyone know the firing order for a 1999 si motor?
and where i can get the manual?

- any suggestions will help
