JDM D15b dual carb idle misfire
Hi i'm having problems with my 1991 jdm 1.5x crx (dual carb) it won't idle for more than a minute and idles rough. Its idling on two cylinders but running on four and feels like it has plenty of power. I did a compression test and all cylinders were above 160. I just replaced the distributor which made it idle for a minute and then stopped.I have checked for vacuum leaks and couldn't find any the two cylinders that are misfiring are on the same carb. what could cause the misfire?
Defiantly sounds like a problem with the carb, can you swap the carbs and see if problem fallows the "bad" carb.
If it does, then it's time for a carb rebuild kit. 94

I wouldn't necessarily jump at a rebuild right away. Carbs are finicky and need to be very very clean to function correctly. My advice would be to remove the problematic carb and thoroughly clean it, pay special attention to the small orifices and channels within the body, use a good cleaner and blow out the holes with compressed air. Don't scratch or sand anything along the way, be gentle and use a soft brush or sponge to clean. Reassemble and see if that has improved the symptoms.
If it's already clean then I would find the factory instructions for setting idle speed, mixture, etc. and reset everything back to factory spec.
A side note, it would be wise to find a vacuum hose diagram and ensure that your hoses are all going where they should be. Your hoses may all be hooked up but they may not be in the correct place.

HI i'm still having trouble with idling i cleaned the carbs checked all the timing and the car runs mint for a minute or two but then runs on 2 cylinders and try's to die.it has good spark. The owner before me hacked up some of the wiring harness but have reconnected the sensors. He also removed the AC could this affect idle? The catalytic converter light is on in the dash could this make it run on 2 cylinders and can a bad oxygen sensor cause this?
