New to the honda scene, have a battery problem?
Hello Inam new to the honda and own a 95 civic ex coupe with about 230.000+ miles. Today i had an issue where the car over heated on me a lil so i put some antifreeze in it then it wouldnt start. I got a boost and drove for about w hours rhen it completly died on me lights went out and didnt have no type of power after putting a booster pack on the battery for 5 minutes it started again. What can it bw i get a spark from the battery when i touch the ju.per cables together
Redo your main grounds, batt. to chassis and chassis to engine, do not just eyeball them, disconnect/clean/reconnect.
Also check main fuse in engine bay fuse box, make sure it is tight along with alt. and batt. leads to the engine bay fuse box.
I would also, [after above done] have the batt. charging system checked, free at most batt./alt shops, like Interstate batteries 94

Get the car started. With the engine running but everything else turned off, measure the voltage at the battery posts. It should be more than 13 volts. If not, the car is not charging the battery, which is why it keeps running down.
The test of shorting the battery out to see if any sparks are thrown is not a good test. A battery that is way too run down to start a car will still throw sparks.
