Guy is telling me it's a 98 type r 4 7 fd but the stamp and label is throwing m3 off

 

Quick way to tell would be to look for the LSD stamp on the trans. Also if you can see through the diff that means you have an LSD. But to figure out if it's a 98 ITR trans with a 4.7 fd, you would need to open the housing.
