Ok, Most people ask, it's normal to be so loud. I bought a 255 original GSS342 walbro and only sound when prime, Usually the previous GSS342 i have whine like crazy.

The seller say if is to loud then is a problem (but we all know walbro is loud).

10ga from battery to 40amp relay and 40 fuse.

 

Forgive me if I misinterpret your post.

I believe you are saying your new Walbro 255 is only loud when it's priming up, and then you don't hear it when the car is on?

If the car is running well and the pump isn't giving you any problems I would not fixate on making sure to hear the pump. If you hear it prime and the car starts normally I wouldn't worry too much about it. My old Walbro 255 also primed really loud and i could barely hear it when the car was on. Do you have a full tank of gas? You'll hear it louder when you're nearing empty.

Also, I'd remove that 40 amp fuse and put in a 15-20. That pump will never draw that much amperage and you're going to have a car fire before that 40amp blows due to the pump.

 

Yes, that is exactly what I'm trying to say and thanks for shear your experience. This is my first silent Walbro ever, now i cant test the car cause its raining since yesterday, but it start like always and idle.

 

is your rear seat installed?

in my ecperience its pretty damn loud with the seat off, once seat is installed, i can barely hear it with engine off and cant really hear it at all while driving the car

 

I always heard it prime and then once the car started, it wasn't loud enough to overcome the engine noise
