Default Power Windows/Motors

1998 Civic EX 390K going into semi retirement from my DD 35K year to my Son's 2 mile commute to work....

My driver side window slips down 3/8-1/2" when I "roll" it up it bangs, clanks or thumps at the top as long as you have the power button on.....that is it just doesn't stop. I did a visual inspection and didn't see anything out of place.....(the window itself became "un-clamped" a few years ago)

Is there any stop adjustment on these? Should I assume the top teeth are worn and need a new motor? I looked online and didn't really find anything.

Any help is appreciated....

Thanks
Rick

My guess is the last teeth on the regulator are worn out, just replace the regulator, [$32 at PicknPull] .

Is that Jackson Michigan or Mississippi? 94

if you can't find anything there. Check out car-part.com it's the national database where you can search in Michigan junkyards that have that part!

The regulator are the gears, and the entire device that pushes and pulls the glass down/up. The motor attaches to it.

I think it comes out rather easily, just have to take it off the glass, then the assembly comes out, usually with the motor attached. And hey you're welcome! Hope ya find a good one!

Removal is easy, unbolt glass from regulator, [2 bolts] and remove or just wedge in place up as high as you can get it.

Unbolt the regulator, [3 bolts] and remove regulator.

Motor is removable but you will most likely have to remove the regulator to get the motor off it , and only a $5 difference in price.

Recommend also bringing a ~12v battery plus some leads to connect the motor and run it up and down, esp to get the glass out.

Window motor will run on as little a 9V, so a cordless drill batt. is what I bring to the bone yard. 94
