New clutch, no drive, speedo working?
My clutch went on my accord 1.8i 2001, fitted a new one, went for a few meters then there was a bang, now no drive.
When you put it in any gear you see the speedo working as if you were moving. speed returns to zero if i depress the clutch.
I assumed that something went wrong with the trans-axle/diff so I fitted another trans axle.
Same problem.
Whilst I had it all apart again changing the trans axle I inspected the clutch, seemed to be OK
any ideas?

Are both axles fully seated? Make sure the stub axle(to the wheel) did not break. I have had that happen. Put the car in gear and have a friend look for a spinning axle.
I jacked the front end up, put it in gear, both axles not turning, and with the engine off and in gear you can turn either front wheel and hear it turning the transaxle. Had both axles off, and nothing broken. I wonder if the new clutch broke, it was a big bang. I did have a bit of trouble trying to line up the transaxle with the engine/clutch. Was just a bit confused why the speedo was working though. I assumed that is detected off the differential
Looks like the axles are broken, with the car in gear, I can turn both axles easily, even though they are fully seated. One snap ring seems opened up, the other missing. Possibly in the original trans-axle I changed out. I guess the recent sticky caliper problem had put strain on the axles. Putting a new clutch in with more torque finally caused the axles to fail
Without any pictures or seeing the car in person it is hard to tell what may have happened.
Can you take a picture of the axles going into the differential housing?
If they are not fully seated the axles may appear to be installed but are not actually connected to the differential side gears.
With everything installed and the front wheels in the air, when you turn one wheel forward(by hand) what does the opposite side do? Not move, move same direction, move opposite direction?
