Anyone out there have there crx or civic painted flat black?

there might be one posted in the "pic of your cars" post but i am on a 200 pentium with a 56k and this thing has a cardiac if i try to look at that post!
also, anyone that doesn't like the idea of the flat black paint job can save there energy and not post there opinion, no offense but i am not interested.( ) people that do have their car painted like this feel free to comment.

my buddy on the club has another 4G Si wiith mini me setup and he has JDM rear spoiler, and he has his car painted with flat black spray paint.. its looks like an army truck.... he has green and black spots.. kinda kewll . but the surface its a lil rough... clear coat it and its good...

i saw pics of one awhile back it was flat black with some gsr wheels on it...it looked niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee if i were home i could post pics b/c i saved the car but im at my girls school till sunday sorry man but it looks very nice

I'm thinking of going flat black and doing a navy submarine type design on the front, or a warplane like thing. It would be hilarious. Anything is better than Maaco.

by flat black do you mean primer? as in primered black?

 

yup the one with the gsr's is my friends... its just rattle canned with primer black. I'll have him post up some pics

 

primer black isnt water tight. it'll absorb moisture and create rust. make sure your flat black paint is quite resistant against water. clear coat it or use a different type of paint.

I agree about the primer, it WILL rust, unless you use a good primer sealer, and if you're going to do that you've got a compressor and a gun and you should just spray it right anyways. I have my civic primered black and it looks great but it is really starting to rust. I'm going to have to strip the primer, re-primer then spray it with flat black. No clearcoat, that would make it look really funky, especially rattlecan clearcoat.

wish i had a digicam my **** is flat black jdm front end looks good with rustoleum flat black primer and flat black are two different things primer doesnt go on like flat black the primer is hard to paint good flat black goes on pretty smooth i painted my buddies s10 the other day came out good to for 4 cans

 

You have to really do it smooth, because the slotches are very visible and look like **** if you just randomly spray. You have to have technique.

 

my crx is flat black and I think it looks pretty good. Only thing is some people see it as a sign that it is ok to slam their doors into my car. People today, you have a fixed up car and they damage it. Spend the money only on the inside(engine etc) and they think they can dent and ding it up.

 

yo my beater is flat black, i was stoned one night and painted it, its kinda hot but idk its a joke since its my beater, i figure i got one car with a paint job and and my drift hatch, i pull sick e brakes in the drift hb lol

There's a girl (lady, rather) here in Christiansburg with an ED3 like mine that is painted camo. She used to come in my store all the time. I'll try to snap a pic and post it too.

 

 

couple ricers around here (hunter and pb foot) are painting their hatch craps flat black, say its jdm or something theyll prob chime in
