06 Civic Rear tires wearing badly
I tried to research this on here before writing this, but had little luck finding valuable information. I have a 2006 Civic EX that is tearing through rear tires within 20k miles. I have no thrown any money yet at this problem, although I bought control arms, Moogs non adjustable, that arent here yet but may end up getting returned if they are not what's wrong with it. I had my car in a few weeks back to get aligned and they told me the camber was at -3 and not adjustable. I have had the car for about 80k miles. When I got the car, it had new tires. By about 30k more miles, the rear tires were destroyed on the insides. I came across several articles about a lawsuit and Honda reimbursing owners for the parts, tires and time. The deadline for that has come and gone, though. I'm not looking to sue anyone, I just want a solid fix for this problem. Let's here what you got. Any useful advise greatly appreciated in advance.
This is a known issue. You should have a recall available for your car. Contact your local dealer. The new control arms have a C stamped on them and come with 1.50 degrees of camber to compensate for the issue from the factory. The stock arms have only .75 degrees which results in too much camber in the rear. You can also get the Dorman adjustable upper control arms from rockauto which will allow the alignment tech to adjust to perfect camber alignment.
I appreciate your quick reply. Have you actually used the Dorman control arms or know anyone that has? I was told to avoid those and go with the Moogs instead. I will contact the Honda dealership tomorrow and see what they have to say about their own and updated control arms.
Has anyone used these to replace the original "poorly designed" rear arms before? I tried to contact Moog about if there design of them had been revised the same way the Honda one's were. They were unable to tell me much. I will resort to the Honda one's if I can't determine a solution otherwise. I was in Honda today and compared them side by side. They look nearly identical(the Moog is a hair longer), but I'm not sure if I need more than a visual test or not to verify that these are a fixed version of the faulty ones. I will try to contact Moog again tomorrow, but for the time being, I figured I'd ask someone on here if they happened to be running them and having good luck with the product.

Any info on the Moogs non adjustable? I went that route, but I'm still wrestling with Moog and trying to figure out if they were revised/updated like the factory Honda's were. You'd think, especially since it was so long ago, but I want to be sure.
Try to find some 08 and up upper used control arms and get it aligned. Make sure they have the "C" stamp on them. Thats what I did.

I was told from Moog that there arms were designed around the original 2006 one's, not the revised versions used in 2008, so, to me, that's not the solution I'm looking for.
you answered your own question. They're non-adjustable, and just plain 'ol OEM spec so no one is going to use them. Go with the Dorman if cost is an issue, but if you want to spend $300+ then get something else. SPC is a very reputable brand.
Even if they are a pain in the *** to adjust by disconnecting them, who cares? Are you aligning the car yourself?
the dorman arms are rebranded 1st gen SPC control arms, which have to be adjusted somewhat disconnected from the car. The build quality is actually good when compared to the other similarly priced options (s2, godspeed). The bushings aren't the crappy 2 piece design and should - i mean will - hold up to normal wear and tear. I wish I had known of those sooner before i wasted money on godspeeds. they fell apart after like a year.

I can't comment on how they are but I use MOOG Products and they are good.
I'm running a rear camber kit which costed me 200$. It's a Godspeed one and it's fully adjustable. I wouldn't pay 300$ for a OEM type part but that is just me!
