Default Obd2a d16y8 5 speed conversion into 99 ex

I have a 99 Ex (d16y8 auto) and the trans went out. I have a motor/5spd trans from a 96 ex. Ive done all my research on the swap, and have just one question left as far as compatibility.

My plan is keep the obd2b harness, and swap over the obd2b dizzy to the 96 motor. I have a 99 5spd ecu (p2p a12). Will this work or am I missing something with the compatibility of these two? Thanks!

why bother swapping the engine at all? your current motor will need the intake manifold from the 96, thats it.

My current motor has 220. New setup has around 70k. Im aware of that route, but rather put the newer motor in since it will all be out.

You probably never removed an auto transmission before but I see where you're going with this. You planned to do the 5spd conversoin but decided to swap out the entire thing.

Yes it should work.

Lolwut? I've removed and installed motor/trans on many vehicles before, including an in process nut/bolt restoration of another vehicle of mine. Simply was asking a question on compatibility between model years.

For someone so confident in others abilities,"yes it should work" seems lackluster.

It doesn't have to be "all out" to do a 5spd swap. That is what I'm referring to. if you've done this before than you don't need to have it all out just to replace the transmission. i could give you another option but you seem to be set on putting it in, so have at it.

Again, aware of this. Also aware it's not much more work to just pull it as one assembly, and not have to change an IM with the motor still in the car. This forums been about as much help as expected.
