Default d16y8 mani using 90' Si ECU & V-AFC unit..???

alright now I have this engine in for a while and the question I never asked was... my engine came with complete swap for d16y8 right??? and I used my d16a6 intake manifold, ecu, dizzy etc..

now I "HEARD" from other 590,834 posts that the d16y8 manifold is better then the a6 manifold? in runners, flow, blah blah blah

My question is... can I switch back to the d16y8 intake mani??? I mean I know I can, BUT do I NEED the p28 ecu to do this or can I stick to pm6 ecu&vafc??? also in doing this.. the only thing I would have to switch over is my injectors, AM I CORRECT? Will the d16y8 mani plug into harness? what else do i need to use y8 mani?

You can use the Y8 manifold with your stock ecu, but a few small things will have to be done. First, the injectors like you said will have to be switched. Also, the Y8 throttle body has a map sensor mounted directly on it, so you will need to extend your stock map sensor plug to reach. Idle air control valve and TPS sensor will plug right up. There is only 1 thing i'm not sure of, which is the intake air temp sensor. Until recently, the IAT sensors were all mounted on the intake runner, but honda later started mounting them to the intake piping before the TB. I'm not sure which variety the y8s used.

The Y8 cars have the air intake temp sensor located in the intake piping. You'd need to take one off of your old manifold and drill a hole in your intake or your stock piping. If you have an intake, you can even just put it in one of the pipe connectors so that you dont have to drill metal.

With the Y8 intake manifold, only the 6g(Y8) fuel rail will fit. Your 4g rail plainly cannot be installed.

The Y8 rail flows better, and the FPR is set like 5-7 psi higher than the A6 FPR.
