I have a 1990 honda civic DX no power dl, wd, any of that fancy stuff, but my windows only go down half way ... on both passenger and driver side, anyone know how to fix this problem?

also thanks for the help JoshDM on the backseat removal - couldn't reply back in that post cuz i only get 5 post a day ! d@mn trial membership how much longer do I have to deal with this?

 

Does it just stop or is it stiff??? Spray some lube in the tracks if its stiff....

i had a problem like this before with my passenger side window. i could only roll the window down so far that if i tried to roll it down passed that point, the door would pop open. the metal rod that opens the door when you pull the handle was in the way of letting the window roll down all the way. so i used a zip tie to tie it out of the way.

its not really a "problem", it seems more like a child safety feature .. cuz they both stop in the EXACt same spot... this is why i dont get it... took apart the vinyl on the door, but i couldnt get to the window (damn window roller upper)

anyways - i was lookin through the book on my car and it says nothing about any kinda child safety features... just seems like the window stoppers are stopping it early

 

take the door side off. two screws on the bottom one on side of it. one by the vent. take out door handle pop out U pin holding handle on wiht a flat head take off speaker grill and 2 bolt under the cover.

pull from the bottom and gently lift up. take all the plastic off then see hwatr the problem is.

 

You didn't put big speakers in the doors did you?

 

haha, my friend's EG is like that. 1/2 window down MAX, oh yeah and no A/C. Gotta love it.
