As of now, my D16Z6 is N.A., I've got a generic ebay header on it. But, I've got a TD04HL13G that i'm going to put on it sooner or later.
I was going to use the exhaust from my parts car, but that thing is a piece of crap. It's got a couple pipe sections welded in, no cat, and all the gaskets were replaced with welds. So this parts car exhaust isn't gonna work for me.
I'm trying to keep costs low, so I'm thinking that i'm gonna use the main catalytic converter off my V6 accord. That car had 244 BHP, and my civic is going to be around that number. Do you figure that the V6's cat will work well on the turbo civic?
This is my turbo's flange, the one that bolts to the downpipe.
I can't seem to find any downpipes that will work with this. I'm searching on google shopping, ebay, all the cheap stuff. Everything I find is 5 bolts, not three.
I figure i'm gonna need to fabricate the whole downpipe. I should be able to find a flange though, right? Somehow, though, I'm struggling. It's a TD04HL13G volvo turbocharger.
I still haven't decided on a manifold, but I want something that won't force me to get rid of air conditioning. I'm probably going to cheap out on this too, I just want something that won't break and won't break the bank. And keep my A.C. blowing cold lol.
I think i'm gonna use 3" piping for the exhaust. I haven't decided on a muffler nor resonator, and i'm sure this is gonna suck while i'm n.a. but it's cool. It's a sub-100ci engine, i'm not worried about 'low-end torque'.
I figure i'm gonna design the downpipe so that it'l be a direct replacement for the header, same flange and all that.
That flange looks awfully similar to the tdo4 off of a mitsu 3000 gt, maybe find that manifold from a local wrecker and cut the flange off and then weld that to some steel piping and then slowly step it up to at least 2.5 inch for the rest, insert some flex pipe and then after that throw the cat on it with a flange of some sorts

I wonder if I would find a rarer turbo trim mitsubishi or a volvo that's broke first. The turbo came off a volvo something Idk. I'd rather just have a flange mailed to my house than have to go do stuff like bring a sawzall to a junk yard.
there were 3 at my local japanese wrecker but im not sure what your situation is, I know if it was me and my buddy we would have it all done in the course of a day but he has a welder idk what access you have

I can weld stuff, plasma cut a flange or just cut a junkyard car's downpipe in half but honestly I just really want something that bolts up to this mailed to my house
Also a quick search told me that the 13G mainly came on mitsu 3000 gt/ dodge stealth tt, while the 13T came on a volvo as well as the 13C, so your turbo is the same as the one I have in my basement

And now, with these informations combined with the fact that my girlfriend taught me chinese, i'm gonna buy both of these for seven ninety nine after shipping.
My only thoughts on this are - you dont need a 3" exhaust for 240whp...2.5" would be fine. And at 240whp on a stock D, you're flirting with rod-bending levels of power.

Yeah I know, I'm probably gonna keep it around 200whp unless I get some rods and pistons.
Thanks for the input on the piping size. Does anyone figure anything about the cat off the V6 accord?
nah man, I want my emissions to be clean. This is going to be my D.D.
I can't use a cat for break in tho, I added lead or something to the break in oil and it says it'l ruin the cat if I have one hooked up. After a thousand miles of n.a and after it's turbo'd I want a cat tho. Why is that hard for ppl to understand? My car is gonna run clean.
