Default Trunk lock removal problem

Hi, I have searched and found a couple DIY write ups and a video on how to remove the Trunk Key lock barrel and it looks so easy except the Civic I'm working on, I removed the bolt and rod and tried to twist the lock like on the video but the video is for a 97 Accord and this is an 06 Civic Sedan and even with Vise grip the lock won't turn either way or pull out straight.
At first I thought the seal was gluing the lock against the body of the car but I managed to free the seal but the lock will not move.
I'm about to remove the plastic trim that covers the license plate lights to see if the 06 has another clip holding the lock but I can't believe that this will be the case because the bolt is sufficient to hold it in place.
Anyone else have tried to remove the 06 trunk lock?
I'm about to break it but I don't want to damage the hole in the car body and not being able to install a new one properly.
This is a woman's car and she insists on using her key to open her trunk, I asked her what was wrong with using the handle inside instead but she wants to use the key like she has done for the last 10 years.

You said, "I removed the bolt" there are two(2) bolts, right? 94

I only saw one and on the 95 Accord YouTube there was only one also and the 06 Civic looks exactly like the Accord video, is there another bolt on the 06 that I have missed?

Your right, there is only one bolt that actually holds the cylinder in place, remove bolt and turn assembly counter clockwise maybe 5-10 degrees and it should release. 94

Thanks, I will try to force it, I was able to turn wiggle it both clockwise and counterclockwise maybe a 1/16" but it was hitting what felt like a notch in the hole and I didn't want to damage the sheet metal by forcing it too much, especially since it's not my car and why I decided to ask for help, the video I watched it felt in his hands and I'm using wise grip and could not get it off.

Try pushing in on the cylinder as you turn it, [counter clockwise] and it needs to turn way more then 1/16 of an inch, more like a 1/4-1/3 of an inch. 94

Thanks I will try that and hopefully I won't damage the hole, I was hoping to see a picture of the cut out but now I'm assuming it is the same as on the older cars.
Thank you for your help

You have probably figured it by now. But there is a second bolt on the outside of the lock. It's under the outside plastic that covers the lock. You can just pop out the one big white clip on the right hand side that holds it on, and wedge something in it to hold it open while you unscrew the bolt. Instead of taking the whole plastic cover off. Then just twist the lock assembly a little and it will come out.
