first off there are no CELs
the owner knew next to nothing about its history
I pulled the carpet back and see a P28 and a jumper harness
I need to open the ecu and see if its chipped

it feels like a single cam from 0-4000 then suddenly there is an insane power change and it pulls like mad
I know vtec shouldnt come that early and its a major drastic change unlike any honda Ive ever driven
I could schedule a dyno tune but thats $300 and a long wait
I was considering buying a P13 ecu

what do you guys think?

 

I would start by checking the mechanical timing and what is up with the ECU. Even if it is chipped, who knows what kind of shitty basemap is on it.

 

Does it have the stock intake manifold and butterfly's?
