Hi, so I just bought a clean 96 CX hatch and I'm trying to figure out the best motor to put in it for max amount of hp and the least amount of modifications possible (aka I really don't want to put another y7 in it. So whatother engines can i possibly put in it that put out more hp (preferably vtec) that'll just be a straight drop in and plug and play pretty much. I understand I'll most likely have to swap out ecu's for vtec and such. I'm new to Honda's so the more help the better.

 

GSR, ITR or H2B swap is probably the most bolt in for power. If you go K or H you will have to weld mounts and such.

 

Well I just learned that it had an f20b in it and the dude took it out and put it in his Integra. Won't H's bolt straight in to F mounts?

 

Does the car have a current engine? If so which? Can you upload a photo of the Engine bay?

It may have had a F2B which uses an adapter plate for the transmission to adapt to the engine and uses B series mounts.
