I just bought a 99 ex coupe to deliver pizzas in at my second job. I fell in love and decided I want to build it. However, the clutch plate was going out and kicking me out of 2nd. Sometimes I can't even get into second. Tonight I noticed a weird knock when I accelerated about 3000 rpms. It sounded similar to an engine knock but sounded closer to my driver seat and not the engine. When I'm cruising in higher gears the sound isn't there. But, tonight when I was on my way home the knock got worse and a weird screech started happening. It sounded like it was coming from a transmission but I'm not sure. It would die if I wasn't giving it gas. When I got home I popped the hood and it sounded like the knock was coming from the block as well. So there is knocking and weird tranny noise.

Please someone give me some advice. I'm clueless and by no means am I claiming to know anything. I'm at a loss and really want to build my car.
