Default Yippeee,, my motor finally blew up!!!!

Doesnt matter because I actually have my spare block getting the Darton treatment as a type this.

Here are some pics..
A good possible reason for the motor not wanting to run??

The reason why my car smoked so bad before the sleeve let go...

Here is the other 2 for a total of 4 out of 4 pistons with cracked ringlands...one even cracked 2 lands--right above the oil ring..

Keep posted for the new motor....straight LS power--I dont need no vtech

if you don't need vtec then you need some forced induction

haha dan u have the right attitude about this. when I blow my motor im gonna be saying the same thing ahah. man i tried to get u my maps but i guess it was just too late. I think the rings were letting go long before I got tuned though according to richard at least. that motor sure did take a beating, shows how tough stock honda motors really are. well, at least LS's.

untuned in dan's sig means not tuned on the dyno. We actaually rode around for quite a while with wideband datalogging and he was well into the 12:1 or below a/f ratio range in the upper rpms.

So you think the rings were bad?
12:1 sounds good......doesn't seem like A/F was the cause.

Ok, Im back on a computer again....kinda sucks I still dont have any internet since I moved a month ago!

Anyways to answer some questions..

The block and crank are available if anyone wants to make an offer---I can have this block sent out as a built bottom end consisting of any size Darton closed deck Pro sleeves and your choice of rods/pistons, ACL's, GSR pump, endless possibilities----or just as it sits. I have the rods too which were not bent. I will throw in the pistons too so that they can be made into some cool ashtrays.

Hondata was somewhat tuned. As Adam said we did have a chance to get the fuel map tuned to about 12:1 a/f throughout the rpm band and into boost.....BUT we didnt really do anything about the timing map. I think the real reason it blew was because of my shitty manual boost controller--the night before I noticed it spiking at around 16 psi !! I dont know where boost was at the time it blew, but I was doing 120 mph Makes me wich I had some nice peak hold warning gauges though.

I dont think the rings were too bad. But definetly the pistons. All four had cracked ring lands and this was going on for quite a while.

Anyways. The new motor is gonna be pretty sick, should be done next week. Im having headwork done that will give me a great gain in power....I am happy to know that the guy doing the head also does IMPO (Saverio Leone) and was recently hired to do all of Bullish Racing's head work---so the work will be top notch.
