I've been visiting these forums for awhile to get random advice, but now I have a specific issue. We changed the distributor in my car today (1.5 L) and put everything back in place. When we tried to crank the car it turned over as normal, but then started making a weird sound I've never heard it make before. I would attempt to describe the sound, but I was afraid to turn it over again in case something was badly wrong. My stepdad said it sounds like it may have jumped time, but we didn't hear anything hit (as far as I can tell it's an interference motor). I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what it could be. If you need any further info, please ask and I'll do my best to answer. Thanks everyone!

Turn the dizzy 180° and try again

 

Make sure the spark plug wires are installed in the correct firing order on the distributor cap. Post pictures.
