Default GE Headstuds Lube?

Hey everyone, I am about to reuse my GE headstuds and (of course) used all the supplied red "torque lube" that came with them the first time around...I have tried many times to contact GE this week and have had no luck, so I figured I would ask here - does anyone know the official word from GE on torque specs using a different type of lube, or perhaps an equal substitute? Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm no expert but I would actually use the same torque specs you know form GE but use ARP's lube.

ARP has been developed to get consistent results the first time without having to loosen and torque multiple times like many other lubes.

That's just me though, that's how I would do it.

Thanks for the input - I was thinking along the same lines, myself - I am trying to get the official word from GE, though, as I am not one to go by "instinct" on something as important as this, LOL.

Torco assembly lube is what they use.

Thanks for the response!

* For future reference for anyone who may need the same information (straight from the horse's mouth, that is), I spoke to Bob @ GE and was told to use either assembly lube or 30w oil, and to torque exactly the same as if you were using the supplied lube.

Thanks to everyone who replied, and thanks to Bob @ GE for giving me a definitive answer.

Doesn't sound logical since specs are always different when using lube as opposed to 30w.
