Hello, brand new to the site. I have a 2000 Civic LX. Originally a D16 Non Vtec. Motor spun a bearing so I bought a donor car, 2000 Civic EX, motor is a D16 Vtec. I swapped everything over, harness (never disconnected from motor or trans), ECU. Everything but the ABS. Car starts no problem, drives fine, shifts fine. But now, if I floor it, the car has a 5000rpm rev limiter and I have to back off the throttle to shift. Motor and trans did not have this issue before it was pulled. Please if you have any thoughts please send them my way! Much appreciated!

 

Do you have any Check Engine light on?, seems like ecu is on limp mode and only allowing you that high rpm to prevent from any engine damage

 

Yea but the only codes are for O2 Sensor and a check valve

 

need to solve the codes and then reset ecu and hope limp mode goes away,
