Icon4 1994 Accord EX Timing Belt issue

Hey guys,

This is my first time posting here! I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. I just replaced my timing belts, tensioners, water pump, the whole 9 yards and after completetion and first start up I have a timing belt whine. I know its because the belts are too tight. Is there a way to adjust the belts with the bolt out of the lower timing case cover?

Thanks!

The only tension on the belts should have been from the springs.
If you used your finger to add even the slightest of tension the tensioner pulleys will whine.

Rotate the crank to TDC, loosen the large nut. Rotate the crank clockwise slightly and rotate the crank counter clockwise to take the slack back out, retighten the nut. Rotate the crank 360°/720° and verify cam to crank timing is still set. Start engine and see if the noise has gone away.

It's also possible it's the power steering or alternator belt making noise and needs to be adjusted. It could be too loose.

After the first start up I did adjust the power steering and alternator belts and it had no effect on the sound

Sounds like the belt is too tight. Remove the ALT and PS belts and restart to confirm.
