Hey honda-tech I need some help. I have a 2001 Honda S2000 and I would like to add Hondata Kpro plus other upgrades but my question is does anyone know if a 01 s2k will pass emissions with Kpro In Illinois near the Chicagoland area I want to boost and all that but 1st step is ecu and if it will not pass I will probably just sell it. If anyone has had experiance with this please share it pass or no pass and why. Thanks in advance.

 

What type of emission test do you have up there? Is it a visual inspection? Or a CEL reader that looks for CELs only?

 

I pass Illinois emissions.

You'll only fail you if you have a check engine light or deleted one. They can only plug in the scanner and scan. They cant touch your car in another way.

 

If this is the case, you will pass without issues unless you already have some that need to be addressed

 

Is that kpro or flash? Any problems with it being rsx ecu if it is kpro? No visual inspection fail if you have front mount? Did Vin match up when entered into ecu?

 

Im mainly worried about the ecu having to be an rsx ecu, vin's matching up, and concerned about the sensors that have to be swapped out will they cause a CEL.

 

They just plug it in and look for a pass on the screen and check gas cap. From what ive experienced.

 

I have Kpro and all my vins match up. Depending on what year you need those sensors. I'm gonna send you a PM about who and who not to trust tuning in our area.
