Ok i took out the one temp sensor in my 90 civic wagon 1.5l
i put new one in an it broke off. i can not figure out how to get the thread casing out of the hole god i am no good at this stuff someone please help me so i don't mess up the head. an if all possible not have to take the head off.
ok thank you i will go buy i a set right now to try this if this does not work any other solutions?
i am scared to death i ruined this head. i can not afford to buy a new one or anything like that.
If you can't do it or feel that you cannot do it, then don't try. With these situations you usually get one really good shot at it, and then it only gets harder.
Call a friend, a friends friend, your mechanic, your plumber buddy, anyone with any sense of mechanics and proper use of tools. Worst case, get it towed to a machine shop and have them remove it for you.
ok great news i got it out damm i am happier then a pig in slop!!!!!!!!!!!!
next question? the sensor that tells the fans when to kick on is that one of the sensors on the head? i changed the coolant temp sensor an was in the process of changing the other when it broke. i hope one of these is for the fans? if not where is it located at?
ok i changed the sensors an the thermostat to no avil has it fixed the problem. the problem is that the lower hose going to thermostat
is staying cold behind the thermo it is hot fans kick on nut according to the hand held temp gauge the hottest spot i found was on the block at about 180 degrees upper hos is about 130 lower is about 81 i have let it idle for ever to try to get air out of bleeder but the flow never comes any ideas?according to the temp gauge it is where it should be almost a halfway POINT. head gasket was changed an there are no leaks anywhere, this thing is driving me crazy i should of stayed with an american car
What thermostat did u use as a replacement? Check to see if it's opens and closes at the right temperatures. Also try bleeding the air out of the system from the radiator cap once you make sure you have the right thermostat.
Edit: it should start opening at 172*Fand fully open at 194* F

it is an ome 180 i have changed it 3 times an nothing has changed.
i had the bleeder open for almost an hour while it was idling an it never spewed out like it should, you open it up a little comes out (about half a cup to a cup full) then it just stops. i even had the cap off while it was idling an no change. like i said it is not over heating. i was thinking about loosing the cap an driving it for a little while to see if that would work. at this point anything or suggestion would help
hey if you dont want to *** with trying to extract it just run it like these guys did heres this link its on honda tech pictures of two different very helpful
this is what i am trying to figure out please any help would be grateful!!

the temp gauge sound only be at most a little more than a quarter, seems like your thermostat may be stuck, install temp sensor in diff location like others did in previous link and if your worried about it overhearting. just put a switch so you can turn the fan on when you want. how mine is set up. my switch even lights up blue its a skull
ok i am not explaining this right so i will try again,
i put a new head gasket on the car,a new 180 degree thermostat and i have changed it 3 times and just so everyone knows it is not a fail safe thermostat ,an other stuff.
the car runs great no leaks what so ever, the problem is that the lower radiator hose is staying cold with a temp of about 81 degree before the thermostat. after the thermostat the temp is about 153 degrees.
now the top of the radiator is at 183 degrees. the engine is not getting hot the temp Gauge in the car reads where it should but when the gauge reaches the right temp in car, the fans come on an stay on the do not cycle off and on.know this is what i am trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
1. why is the lower hose stay so cold?
2.why are the fans constantly staying on? And
3. is the reason it is not flowing right because of the fans on all the time
or is it something else that i am missing.
I have put over 100 miles on this car since i changed the head gasket an has never over heated. but like i said lower hose stays cold an fans run all the time. this is what i need some help with.
