Icon5 looking for '02-'04 ac help

I've searched and can't find an all inclusive diy ac replacement thread for my 2004 CR-V. There's got to be something here.

I finally found the eleven page TSB 09-076 and it has motivated me to finally do something about my broken air conditioning. I just don't know where to start. I only want to replace the minimum number of parts. For sure the compressor and condenser but hopefully not much else.

Nobody? No issues with the 2002-2004 a/c?

Yes, well documented issue. No DIY as you MUST flush the system if the compressor **** the bed. Local AC repair shop said they have had a few CRV's over the years, and its about $1k for the fix. He suggested replacing more then just the compressor though do to chunks of compressor floating around in the system and causing future damage.

Thanks.

I was hoping for a step by step or video on all of the disassembly required. My family has all of the professional ac equipment so we'll be doing the whole job at home. Hoping to get by with compressor, condenser, and flushing everything out.

Just finished complete ac system replacement in my garage. I've never seen a compressor blow up like that. I'm talking chunks of metal out of it the size of a fifty cent piece.

Replaced compressor, condenser, evap core (huge metal shaving in there), expansion valve, serpentine belt and thermostat. I flushed the lines, did not replace.

Cold, cold, cold now. Temp probe five inches into center vents says 40 degrees. Drove three hours in 90 degree, humid weather and only had the fan on half way.
