Gas Pedal Doesn't Work
I have a 1995 Honda Accord EX with the 2.2 vtech and automatic transmission. I broke down one day when the negative ground from the battery burned off the body. After I fixed this, the gas pedal won't work now and the car sits at 5000rpm in park, and ypu put it into drive and it goes down to 2000rpm. So it drives lol but the gas pedal does nothing. I put on a different throttle body thinking it was one of the sensors but it made no difference. Suggestions?
Check your throttle cable. It should have a bit of slack in it before it connects to the throttle body. Does the throttle plate physically rotate when you press on the gas peddle?
If the cable and the throttle body are both operating. It sounds like you should be looking for a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake manifold.
check to make sure that you didn't accidentally disconnect a vacuum hose from one of the solenoids around the battery. If I remember correctly there is an intake air resonator solenoid and a couple other vacuum hoses running near the battery that you may have disconnected.
