Default Ozzy just getting into CR-V

Hi everyone,
I am from Australia and have just started to get into the Honda CR-V. Unfortunately I have had back luck so far, I will elaborate.

I first got a 1998 Honda CR-V automatic, took it off road a few times and everything seemed great, until I made a terrible error of judgment. I had been in the bush driving on some off road tracks, I had the car in the 2nd gear setting on the autotrans. I came back onto the highway and started to accelerate but had forgotten to change the car back to Drive. A car was fast approaching me and I realised that I was in the wrong gear, in haste I panicked and tried to change up into Drive. Unfortunately it went straight past drive and into reverse. Bang!, I had damaged the reverse gear and the car now made a clicking sound as I drove it. Took it to the mechanic and he said it would cost over $1500 to fix the thing as the whole motor would have to be removed to access the gearbox. I ended up deciding to just buy another car as they were cheap. I found a sport model with all the extras I needed for $1700, it had tow bar, roof racks etc... But the engine did not run so well, I thought that it would be something easy to fix so I bought the cursed thing. Well turns out it has been way harder to fix than I had expected. I did get it running ok when it is hot by cleaning up the IAC, but have had no luck getting rid of the cold idle and power problems (I have ruled out the FITV). So now I have two broken cars one with a bad engine and one with a bad gearbox, I am out almost 5k and have no driveable car. So I have come to this forum to hopefully get some help with my idle/power problem in the sport model so I can have at least one functional car.

Thanks

I will put up a post with all I have done to the sport car and trouble shooting I have already tried, when I have access to those sections of the forum.
