I need a mad sweet roof rack
I only have my truck about 70-80% of the time, otherwise it's on loan to family, and I catch myself screwing myself over sometimes when I need to go haul some lumber.
For those of us who have had blisters, splinters, cut the **** out of our hands and actually would like to haul something around that our cars aren't supposed to haul on top of the car, anybody want to recommend anything in particular?

yup, diy with steel threaded gas pipe. will be doing another one soon, will take pics this time. i could literally haul just about anything with it
i wouldn't trust the clip on racks or hollow aluminum tubing for any kind of serious weight. i put these on work cars, not show cars.

I'm talking maybe 3 things of sheetrock, maybe some particle board, a dozen or so 2x4s in case I run out of anything when I don't have my truck. What you're talking about here is ruining the top of the car and probably creating water leaks. Thank you for the suggestion but you and I are in different ballparks here with what we're talking about.
i give zero ***** about my roof. sold off my last beater. i rebuilt a y8 and trans, buy cheap shells, destroy them, keep my swap, move on. saves me a lot of money vs running and maintaining my truck. it isn't hard to seal a couple holes in the roof of a car, how do you think cop cars aren't constantly full of water?

Oh. I'ma prolly do somethin similar since it will probably be more cost effective to replace the shell than repair it. Still waiting to find a 99-00 hatchback with a broken powertrain on the cheap, eventually i'll find one.
