92 Acura Integra
Hi, so I was driving my Integra and I slid into a ditch. After I got pulled out it wasn't accelerating properly, and when I parked it and shut it off for the night I had a hard time starting it. Once I got it to start it shut itself off my lights flashed on and off 4 times and instantly killed my battery. Since then I was able to get it to start a couple more times but it took allot of effort to get it to start. And then it happened again and haven't been able to start since. Also first time it happend I was hearing a clicking sound from under the passenger floor. I went to put a battery charger on it and while I was connecting it the negative cable sparked the negative terminal and all power came back but still had accelerating issues. Please any info
Hmm. Well start from the beginning. Turn on the key, does the CEL (check engine light) turn off? If it stays on, the problem is the ECU. It may turn off and prime the pump after you let it sit for a minute. If the light turns off, and you don't hear the pump, the problem is your relay. 15$ on ebay. Located on the driver side behind the dash. If you STILL have problems, I'd pull the battery, remove the tray, pull the ground wire, clean it, sand the body, maybe even add a wire, repaint (or liquid electrical tape, that stuff is awesome) and rebolt the ground. Clicking on the passenger side I'm not familiar with, but as far as I know this is where the seatbelt "box" is located. Chimes when the belt isnt attached, door open, key in ignition. Other than that, you may just have a bad coil. When they fail, they get hot and slowly die. TEC is the OEM manufacturer for the coil. From an "acura authroized dealer" it will cost you 100$. Cheap aftermarket may not give you any problems, may fix your problem, but also may fail in a year or two. Depends on how often you want to replace it.
