Default 2002 Accord with rebuilt engine burning a lot of oil

I had my 2002 Accord vtech 4 cylinder engine rebuilt. New head new rings and the car is burning oil excessively. I brought the car back to the mechanic and he told me the rings need to seat and I have to keep driving the car. I have put over 1500 miles on the car already. and is burning about 1 quart every 100 miles.

Are you seeing the oil burning from the tail pipe? That is a lot of oil going somewhere.

Yes I see it in blue smoke coming out on the tail pipe. Stop and go mostly.

Are you "doing this yourself" or looking for help with the shop that rebuilt the engine?

A ~$10 guess/try, at least replace the PCV and see what happens.

The shop, IF they actually rebuilt the engine, there is a chance they did not clock the piston rings properly and this is allowing the blow by.....heck even Honda got this wrong on some of the later gen Accords

I am going to give the rebuild a second chance. I am going to replace the o2 sensors myself first. If he wont go back in and fix what he messed up. I will be in court in a week after he decides not to fix it, and I will allow Honda to fix it right. I do not care how much it costs I want the car fixed. I paid him 3800 to rebuild the engine. It should not burn oil like it is doing. Six months of this crap . I am done.

Rings would seat within the first 10mins of engine startup.

How was the engine broken in?

So, no one rebuilds motors anymore, unless you're building one up for boost. You buy a low mile japanese import engine, like one that was sent over on a boat. That's how you do it. Rebuilding a motor when you can replace it with a low mileage oem one is a horrible waste of time and money, and a significant risk due to the possible (probable) incompetence of the rebuilder.
