anyone know if theres a starter rebuild kit available like for b series?
the starter is worn out but I always just replace the solenoid contacts and the plunger and it keeps working on my b series
was wondering whats the cheapest route to fix worn out starter on this motor

Only if it's a Denso. Mistubas aren't really rebuildable.
google larry b's starter contacts and call him up, the kits are only like $20 and it's about 30 minutes to rebuild

mitsuba is rebuildable since it has a different issue.
mitsuba doesn't have a plunger
but the motor brushes wear out.
Honda offers a complete brush assembly for 50 bucks or ebay for 19 bucks non oem
or just buy brushes if you have a spark welder and weld new ones on it for less than 10 bucks.

I just got around to rebuild the starter. It was pretty easy. I didnt take pictures because I was in a hurry. The brushes were worn out, one of them was actually missing but the motor had no damage so I just sanded it a tiny bit with a 220 grit paper where the brushes make contact to take the roughness out of it. Grease up the gears and bearings inside.
Just make sure you test it before putting in back on the car because its PITA to take it back out. Hopefully it lasts quite a while since the new brush set its made in china
This is the kit I got

replaced the worn out parts cleaned greased up
tested out of the car turns good just like normal starter
put it back in with a lot of bitching
barely ****** turns.
brand new battery
before the plunger wouldn't click all the way and wont crank.
not it cranks but very slow and after few tries it just stops turning completely but plunger still clicks good( since its brand new)
