Start by reading the FAQ links in the root of this sub-forum. There's o'nuggets of wisdom there.

Second before you mod make sure everything is in tiptop shape. This will save you a lot of headaches down the road.

With all that said, what you wanting to build? Auto-x, Road Race, Street Performance, Drag, Show Car, clown car?

Well truthfully a street car is what I want...(so can still drive it)
That being said the motor has 270 on it so I think personally I should go looking for some forged rods and pistons....at least before the turbo route..

Right, because putting down 90hp really needs that full two wheel grip.

No, you don't need an lsd right now, maybe later if you go turbo though. At $800 give or take, it's an expensive part that will make almost no noticeable difference at stock power level.

Probably need to pick a power goal and then establish a budget to get there.

N/A is mainly only worth it if you can do a lot of work yourself and you'll probably only get to the 140-150whp range before it starts to really be unstreetable.

What are you using to tune?

If you are trying to spend the least amount of money possible n/a, then I would pull the head and mill it to the seats, port it, spend the $100 for a delta 272, buy the cheapest 4-2-1 header you can find and a junkyard special z6 or y8 intake.

If you can do everything yourself, you'll be in it for $400-500 and have 120-140whp depending on the head work, compression you decide on, and your tuning ability.

Thank you! I was thinking along the same lines... I already have a really good 4-2-1 headers, and intake, I just think I'm gonna do internals after I do fuel rails/injectors,and cam gear....

So I went out and got myself 4-2-1 headers...just need a new gasket now. I have a cold air I plan on throwing in...is there anywhere I can just purchase a 272?

Delta Camshaft

They do regrinds. I don't think anyone is doing a new cam for the a6s . . . even if they were it would be $600+

Just be aware that Delta is cheap for a reason . . . not sure if they didn't use the right geometry for the valve timing events or what but the two cams I've used from them (and several other people online additionally) don't line up with the cam card. You can install them on whatever centerline they suggest but the 272 I have in my beater CRX right now the IVC, EVO, EVC events were off by 2-5*

Close enough for $100 or whatever it is now but just know the QC is "close enough" going into it

Brakes, suspension, bushings, tie rods, tires, etc.

All that before you touch on engine mods.
