Can someone help me figure out why I can't reset my SRS light on my '94 Del Sol? It's been on for a few months now and I can get it to go away. It came on one day after I replace the cluster back light bulbs and turned on the ignition without the SRS plug plugged in and now I can't figure out how to reset it or pull the codes. I've tried jump the memory reset connector, but the light never goes out when it's jumped and it doesn't flash any codes when I jump the service connector.

 

Describe in detail the reset procedure you used and where you obtained it.

 

I put a wire into each pin of the yellow connector by the fuse panel and then turned on the ignition and waited and nothing happened. I obtained both the reset procedure and the code pulling procedure from you.

Does it matter? I just need help figuring out why nothing is working. It's off whatever thread you have saying how to reset SRS light and many other things. You told me to try to pull codes, but when I tried that, it never blinked to give me any codes. I know there's nothing wrong with the system. I just need to reset the light and the yellow connector is not working to do that.

My first thread asking for help in which you gave info on how/what to do and nothing worked, so now I'm back saying that nothing worked.

CC and horn fuses were voltage tested and neither have power. I checked all fuses and none are blown. You were adamant on pulling codes, so I tried to do that and I couldn't get the light to blink any codes out.

 

I'll go to a real Honda Tech and get some info and post up here in case anyone else has the same problem in the future.

 

It may be wise for you to buy the 94 Del Sol service manual.

 

I have one and it just says to never attempt to troubleshoot or service the SRS system yourself, which obviously I'm going to ignore.

 

There should be an entire chapter devoted to the airbag system.

The SRS system is usually the last section of the Electrical chapter.


Post the SRS circuit diagram from your manual. Does it look like this?

 

It's actually the Haynes repair manual for 92-95 Civic/Del Sol.

 

You need the 94 Del Sol factory service manual. It looks like this one^.

Answer this^ by looking in the wiring diagram chapter of your Haynes manual you have.

Is the diagram for the 94 Del Sol? If so, it explains why you were unable to pull codes by jumping the service connector or to reset the SRS control unit. The reason is because your car has an earlier version airbag system, and you were using SRS code pulling/reset methods specific to a later airbag system.

 

Hm. Is there anywhere online to find the reset procedure for mine? That diagram is for "Typical Civic del Sol 92-95" I really don't want to buy a $70 manual for it.

You could download the 92-95 Civic manual and follow the SRS diagnostics there. However, the wiring information may be slightly different for the Del Sol.
