00 civic w/ OBD2a D6y7 engine harness and d16y8 swap - no power to fuel pump
Hello ht, ok so I just picked up a non running 00 civic hatchback and previous owner swapped in a d16y8. The engine harness is a obd2a non vtec harness, the ecu Is a p2e. On the ecu side you have the 3 ecu plugs and green plug plus one additional connector that was originally for the 2000 chassis...now with the above setup which is the correct way to get this to work...as of now there is no power going to the fuel pump unless I ground terminal 8 on the main relay, before I start to tracing wires I need to know what to do with the extra plug.

That's what I was not hoping to do, but to simply everything it's the easiest path. I got the car to start by grounding terminal 8 but then noticed my tach wasn't working and a few other things. Well thanks for clearing that up for me. Time to search the forums.

Wrong engine harness, find an obd2B. You see that "B" at the end? Yeah, get that. Not the "A", a "B". THAN get an obd2b to obd2a conversion harness. If you don't want to get the harness than find an obd2b ecu. That simple.
You wanna not spend money? Than prepare to be adventurous. You need to depin all the wires and match it up to the ecu. Yeah, super fun. GL with your decision.
And if you still can't make a decision on which path to go just take it to a shop.

I ended up finding a local here and I bought the obd2b harness for 50 bucks. Then he took me to go look at the donor car and bought 2 door panels, ignition switch assembly, core support, p2p ecu, both fenders and front bumper for 100 dollars more...scored big time. Thanks everyone
