Default 92-95 civic heater cable

Hey HT I hope some one on here can help me out. So the speed selector went out in my 95 civic. I replaced the whole climate control, but stupid me pulled the cable out for the hot cold selector. When I out the new one in everything works however it is very hard to change from hot to cold almost to the point of breaking the lever when changing temperature. Does anyone know the route that cable goes through from the cluster to under the dash? Any help is appreciated pictures would be even better.

A Google search for the 92-95 Civic service manual will yield a wealth of information:

The parts in question are on the UNDERSIDE of the heater box-- the picture is upside down. You can see it if you crawl in the door and look right above the hump in the middle of the car.

I know where the parts are located, I am trying to find how the cable is supposed to be routed from the climate control to under the dash. What parts/brackets it goes behind or under that type of thing. I ran it one way and it would not adjust from hot to cold and broke the adjustment lever. I ran it another way and it adjusts but is very hard. Hopefully this makes sense

Take the shortest path for the cable to the lever shown in the diagram.

Did you read the adjustment procedure in the right side diagram?

I think it just comes out of the back of the panel, turns down behind the radio, then to the lever on the bottom in a general "S" shape.

If you yanked the panel out of the dash with the cable still connected at the bottom, pulling the cable against an obstruction, it might have put a kink in the wire center. This will cause excessive internal friction and you need to replace the cable.
