Default 92 Civic DX - bogging

Would a clogged fuel filter cause bogging out when you press on the gas or stalling when you let off of the gas? Also, could fouled plugs lead to a bad ignition coil?

I have no way of checking codes. I do know the CEL came on once I replaced the ignition Coil.

Jump the service connector to pull the codes.

I checked out how to do it yesterday. I'm going to attempt to pull the codes here shortly. Will update once I get them.

Well... No luck with the codes... The car has been setting for a couple days and now the CEL don't stay on.

Read information in the CEL thread carefully. The next time the CEL turns on while driving, pull over and leave engine running while you jump the service connector to pull the code(s).

I should have added before the car won't start now... I replaced the coil last week and now i dont have spark again. I think the new coil was faulty.. Anyways.. The other day I was driving and when I'd come to a stop and would have to set for a little the car would stall. Well I brought it home, waited for a bit and went to go check it out. Tried starting and it wouldn't start but would crank. The only way it would start was if you barely held in the gas pedal. Tried adjusting the idle a little and it ran but would start bogging out and backfiring some. Someone told me it could be the fuel filter.

Again, did the CEL come on when you were driving?

You can check codes even if the car does not start. Faulty distributor sensors could be the reason for no spark, those should throw codes.

It is almost certainly not the fuel filter. Cleaning the IACV may help with the not idling at stoplights and not starting unless you hold the gas pedal.

I guess I'll ask again. Exactly what is the CEL doing, right now?

When the car is running the CEL just stays on. But I ended up replacing the coil again because I stopped getting spark and it had a 1 year warranty on it. Also, replaced the cap because there was a hole in it. Now the car starts and runs fine. All I'm worried about now the idle keeps going up and down while in Park or neutral after the engine is warmed up.
